The Rotary Club of Bicester is part of a world wide association of Service Clubs known as Rotary International. It received its Charter in February, 1954.
Members are drawn from the business and professional life of the community. Through the weekly meeting of the Club, members enjoy the fellowship of their fellows and find the inspiration to serve the communities from local to international level. The best place to gain a full picture of Rotary and its activities and endeavours is to visit the site of Rotary International.
A Rotary Club does raise funds in aid of charities but less well known are activities involving help and advice to the infirm, the aged, youth and others in need. Helping school leavers prepare for their first jobs, taking 'Kids Out' and hosting small teams of young managers from overseas are some of the activities receiving less publicity. The article by Rotarian Stuart Macey on The Rotary Club Of Bicester in our book, The Bicester Story, published n 1999, gave a picture of Rotary as a whole and Bicester's own Club in particular.
